WK 1 - SEPTEMBER 9TH 2013 BACK TO LEARNING

NEW LEARNING YEAR STARTS

FRIDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER 2013

     Well, after a relaxing few weeks away from the learning zone (although the girls always seemed to be learning wherever we go) we are back with renewed enthusiasm and thirst to learn! This first week (started on Wednesday) has been a week of introducing this years learning topics to all three girls.

      This year Louise is classed as Key Stage 4 - Year 10 and set to start her GCSE's. We will be following the edexcel IGCSE syllabus for Mathematics, English Literature, English Language, History, Geography and Spanish. This will be studied with a view to continuing to either a college to study childcare or getting a job at a childcare establishment and training through work. 

     Katie is in her final year of Key Stage 2 and what is classed as her final year of Juniors before moving to Secondary Level education. This year we will continue with a wide variety of learning subjects and topics. These subjects will be Numeracy, Literacy, History, Geography, Art, Science, DT and ICT.

     Lily is in her final year of Key Stage 1 and what is classed as her final year of Infants before moving to Junior Key Stage 2 education. This year we will continue with a wide variety of learning subjects and topics. These subjects will be Numeracy, Literacy, History, Geography, Art, Science, DT and ICT.

     In addition to there individual subjects as a group they will also go swimming, library, cooking and various other pursuits and activities. There will also be a number of field trips and visits to various places relating to our individual subjects.

                     

                                

     This week to start the learning year off we have been doing maths and english mainly. To end the week we are going to try to have a theme day (mainly for Katie and Lily) where they do academic work but also round the week off with a treat for their hard work! (hopefully they have been working hard)
